That virtue that I picked to perfect is industry. The virtue industry is when you lose not time; be always employed in something useful. I picked this virtue because I procrastinate a lot and I waste my time doing useless stuff. I wanted to perfect this virtue so I can use my time wisely and get a lot more stuff done. I think this virtue will make me a more active person and make me more social. Must of the time I waste is in front of the computer or TV.

I am going to perfect this virtue by taking a few steps everyday. I am going to unplug my TV in my room and unplug my computer from the wall. I will also cover them with a blanket so I do not see them everyday. Secondly I will plan more things in the evening after school and work so I stay busy and do not get distracted. I think if I keep busy enough during the day I can use my time for useful stuff. Lastly I will go to bed early instead of laying in bed watching TV. This will help me get more rest to do more useful stuff also. Hopefully these steps can last and help me perfect this virtue.

Update #1 4/20/09

So far it has been a rough few days trying to keep with this virtue. Everytime I am in my room i want to get on the computer or wach TV. So far I have not got on the computer execpt to check my emails. The only time I watched TV was when the Pittsburgh Penguins were on and they were beating the Flyers in the series 2 to 1. So i would have to say that i have i used my time wisely and productively. Whenever i have a free moment I do not waste it. I found something useful to do and when I'm done with it, I find something else. It has not been easy and it is only going to get tougher. It is extremely tough on rainy days because there is not much I can do.

Update #2 4/26/09

On my quest to perfect Industry, it has been a up and down ride. The past couple of days I have been wasting more time on the computer mainly because I have been bored and been working a lot. I think once i get back to school I will be able to stop wasting my time because i will have more school work to do. I hope to perfect this virtue soon so I can have more free time which might improve my grades. With more time I can study more and focus more on future college stuff.

Seth,
I admire you for practicing this virtue. It is a tough one. Keep trying to make the most of your time. Don't forget, it is often beneficial to just relax, too! It's all about balance.

Update #3 4/29/09

For this update I am proud to say I have been able to not waste any time and use it for useful stuff. I have been working everyday so that helps out a lot and when i have had free time I either shoot hockey pucks or try to study. After I shoot pucks for about an hour or two I am usually to tired to do anything else so I ended up going to sleep earlier which helps me get rest and be more awake the next day. I think I almost perfect this virtures, but I have more challenges to overcome before I can say I complete perfected it.

Update #4 4/30/09

I do not have much to say about this update because it was pretty much a draw between keeping on track and not. I got really mad after work one night so I just stayed on my computer for the whole night instead of doing anything else product. But by doing that I realized how much time is actually wasted on meanless things.

Seth,
I know what you mean. A lot of time is wasted on little things. You're very wise to realize this!

Update #5 5/3/09

For my last and final blog, I would have to say that my status on the virtue of Industry would have to be that I was pretty even on it. I really did not achieve the full goal of the virtue but i got pretty close. I think with a little bit more time and more dedication to commitment, I could achieve this goal. I had my ups and downs, but it taught me that achieving some goals are not that easy and take a lot of work and effort. These virtues are goals that should be at least tried even though you might not achieve them.
